About Us
About Arb-Solute Tree Management
Professional tree care built around knowledge, safety and a commitment to delivering a higher standard of service.
Arb-Solute Tree Management is an experienced team of qualified arborists providing professional tree surgery, tree management and arboricultural consultancy services throughout Winchester, Hampshire and across the South.
Established in 2022 by directors Jon and Josh, the company was created with a clear purpose: to combine expert arboricultural knowledge with excellent customer service and provide a higher standard of tree care for homeowners, estates and commercial organisations.
Although Arb-Solute is a relatively young company, our team brings more than 30 years of combined industry experience. This experience, together with our professional qualifications, accreditations and continued investment in our people and equipment, allows us to manage everything from carefully pruning a tree in a private garden to complex commercial projects and long-term tree maintenance contracts.
Raising Standards in Professional Tree Care
Tree surgery is a highly skilled profession that requires knowledge, experience and careful planning.
Every tree is different. Its species, age, health, structure, location and surrounding environment should all be considered before deciding what work, if any, is required.
At Arb-Solute, we do not believe in recommending unnecessary work or applying the same solution to every tree. We take the time to understand your requirements, carefully assess the condition of your trees and explain the options available.
Our aim is to provide practical, honest advice that considers your immediate needs while protecting the long-term health, appearance and safety of your trees wherever possible.
Whether we are working in a private garden, on a large estate or within a busy commercial environment, we approach every project with the same care, professionalism and attention to detail.
More Than 30 Years of Combined Arboricultural Experience
Jon and Josh have worked throughout the arboricultural industry, gaining experience across domestic tree care, large commercial contracts and complex specialist projects.
Before establishing Arb-Solute, Jon progressed into senior management with a national tree care contractor. This provided valuable experience in managing people, delivering large-scale projects and maintaining professional standards across demanding working environments.
Over the years, Jon and Josh have seen many different approaches to tree care and business management. When establishing Arb-Solute, they wanted to combine the best practices they had experienced while improving the areas where they believed the industry could do better.
The result is an owner-led company that combines the personal service and accountability of a local business with the knowledge, qualifications, systems and equipment expected from a professional commercial tree contractor.
Meet the Directors
Founded by Jon and Josh, Arb-Solute Tree Management combines over 30 years of arboricultural experience with a commitment to exceptional tree care. We deliver expert solutions with the personal service of an owner-led business.
Jon
Jon brings extensive practical, commercial and management experience to Arb-Solute.
Having progressed into senior management for a national arboricultural contractor, he developed a detailed understanding of managing tree care projects safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Jon established Arb-Solute with the ambition of creating a company that placed professional knowledge, environmental responsibility and long-term customer relationships ahead of simply completing as much work as possible.
He remains actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the business, working closely with customers, supporting the team and helping to ensure that every project is completed to the standards on which Arb-Solute has built its reputation.
Josh
Josh combines extensive practical tree surgery experience with advanced technical knowledge of arboriculture and countryside management.
Alongside his Level 2 and Level 3 arboricultural qualifications, Josh holds a Level 4 qualification in arboriculture, a Level 3 qualification in countryside management and a professional tree inspection qualification. This broader knowledge enables Josh to look beyond the immediate appearance of a tree and consider its health, structure, surroundings and long-term management requirements.
His experience supports both the practical and consultancy sides of the business, helping customers make informed decisions based on professional assessment rather than assumptions.
Together, Jon and Josh provide the experience, technical expertise and hands-on leadership required to maintain high standards throughout every area of Arb-Solute.
Qualified Arborists from the Ground Up
Professional tree care starts with properly trained and knowledgeable people.
Our arborists are qualified to Level 3 or above and combine formal arboricultural education with extensive practical experience.
Unlike businesses where specialist knowledge may sit solely with one manager or consultant, our team is trained to understand the trees they are working on and the reasons behind the work being completed.
This allows our arborists to recognise signs of poor health, structural weakness, disease and other potential concerns that may otherwise be overlooked.
Our wider qualifications and specialist training include:
- Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 arboricultural qualifications
- Professional tree inspection
- Countryside management
- Aerial tree pruning
- Aerial rescue
- Forestry first aid
- Highways and construction site safety
- Site supervision
- Mobile Elevated Work Platform operation
- Water and flood operations
This depth of knowledge helps us provide informed advice and safely manage work across domestic gardens, commercial developments, highways, estates and other specialist environments.
Identifying Problems Before They Become Bigger Issues
The most obvious problem is not always the only issue affecting a tree. Damage, disease and structural weaknesses can develop gradually and may not be easily recognised without the appropriate knowledge and experience. Because our team has a strong understanding of arboriculture, we assess more than the branches we have been asked to prune or the immediate problem a customer has identified.
Where appropriate, we will highlight potential concerns and explain whether further investigation, monitoring or preventative work should be considered.
Identifying an issue early can help reduce future risks, avoid more extensive work and support the long-term health of a tree.
We will always explain our findings clearly and provide honest, practical recommendations without creating unnecessary concern or recommending work that is not required.
Investing in Our People, Skills and Knowledge
We believe the quality of our work depends on the people delivering it. Creating a positive and supportive working environment has therefore been important to Arb-Solute from the beginning.
We invest in qualifications, specialist training and continued professional development to ensure our team remains knowledgeable, capable and up to date with changing industry practices. However, developing a strong team involves more than technical training.
We want our employees to feel valued, supported and proud of the work they complete. By creating opportunities for people to develop their skills and progress within the industry, we aim to build a knowledgeable and motivated team that shares our commitment to quality.
A well-trained and engaged team provides a safer working environment, delivers better results and creates a more professional experience for our customers.
Safety at the Heart of Everything We Do
Tree surgery involves working at height, operating powerful machinery and managing heavy branches and timber, often close to homes, roads, members of the public and valuable property.
Safety cannot be treated as an afterthought.
Every project is carefully assessed and planned before work begins. Our team uses professional equipment, follows established working practices and considers how the work may affect customers, employees, neighbouring properties and the surrounding environment.
Our wider training enables us to work safely across demanding environments including construction sites, highways and commercial developments. We continually invest in modern equipment that allows work to be completed more safely and efficiently while helping to reduce disruption. This includes our own tracked Mobile Elevated Work Platform, which can provide safer access to difficult or unstable trees and locations where climbing may not be the most appropriate option.
Our Accreditations and Professional Standards
Our accreditations demonstrate our commitment to maintaining high professional, technical and health and safety standards.
Arb-Solute is proud to be an Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor.
Achieving and retaining this status requires businesses to demonstrate appropriate levels of knowledge, workmanship, health and safety management, customer care and professional practice.
Our wider accreditations and certifications include:
- Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor
- SMAS
- CQMS
- TrustMark
- Safety Schemes in Procurement — SSIP
These schemes help ensure that appropriate training, insurance, risk management procedures and health and safety systems are in place.
They also provide additional reassurance for commercial customers, developers, property management companies and organisations that require contractors to demonstrate their competence before beginning work.

Professional insurance provides important protection for our customers, employees and the organisations we work alongside.

Caring for Trees, Landscapes and the Environment
Our passion for arboriculture extends beyond individual projects.
Trees provide habitats for wildlife, improve air quality, capture carbon, support biodiversity and contribute to the appearance and character of our towns, countryside and communities.
Wherever practical, our aim is to retain and responsibly manage healthy trees rather than recommend unnecessary removal.
When work is required, we carefully consider the effect it may have on the health and long-term development of the tree as well as the wider landscape.
We also look for opportunities to reuse and recycle the natural materials generated through our work. Depending on the type and condition of the timber, this may include producing woodchip, firewood or biomass or retaining suitable timber for milling and other uses.
Where a tree must be removed, we can also provide advice on suitable replacement planting to help protect and improve the landscape for future generations.
Professional Knowledge with a Personal Approach
Qualifications, accreditations and modern equipment are important, but we believe excellent customer service is equally valuable.
As an owner-led company, we remain closely involved throughout the business and take personal responsibility for maintaining the standards our customers expect.
We communicate clearly, explain our recommendations without unnecessary jargon and provide honest advice based on what we believe is right for your trees and property.
Our team will treat your home, land or commercial site with respect, keep disruption to a minimum and leave the working area clean and tidy once the project has been completed.
Our goal is not simply to complete one job. We aim to become a trusted long-term tree care partner that our customers feel confident recommending to others.
