Safe Removal of a Large, Storm-Damaged Tree

This tree surgery project involved the complete removal of a large Monterey cypress, also known as a Macrocarpa, from a property in Fareham.

Over several years, the tree had been heavily pruned, significantly altering its natural structure and affecting its stability. Sections of the tree had already broken away during previous storms, raising concerns about the risk of further branch or structural failure.

Following an assessment of the tree and its surroundings, removal was considered the safest and most appropriate course of action.

Professional Tree Surgery Using a MEWP

Due to the size, condition and location of the tree, our arboriculturists used a Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) to safely access the canopy.

The tree was dismantled gradually using specialist tree surgery and rigging techniques. Large branches and sections of timber were carefully lowered to the ground, helping to protect the property and surrounding area from damage.

This controlled approach allowed the tree removal work to be completed safely and efficiently, even where there was limited space for branches to fall freely.

Tree Removal and Timber Processing

The Monterey cypress was fully dismantled over two days, with a third day required to process and organise the remaining timber.

The customer chose to keep all of the wood produced during the tree removal. Smaller branches, foliage and brash were chipped and removed from the site.

Once the work was complete, the surrounding area was cleared and left clean and tidy.
